Questions
Before you start
Does the paraquat case review cost anything?
No. The paraquat case review is free, and there is no obligation to go further.
Is TortAdvisor a law firm?
No. TortAdvisor is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. A trained case advisor, who may not be an attorney, reviews your answers. If your situation may fit, a law firm or legal intake provider from our Partner List may contact you.
Is there a paraquat settlement?
The parties signed a Master Settlement Agreement on September 3, 2025.3 Individual offer amounts are not public, and a June 2026 court order says a significant number of plaintiffs chose not to accept their offers.5
Cases outside the settlement must meet the proof rules in Case Management Order 25.6 We never promise that a claim will be accepted or that money will be paid.
Does paraquat cause Parkinson’s disease?
That is disputed. A 2011 study of pesticide applicators and their spouses found about 2.5 times the odds of Parkinson’s among people who used paraquat.2 The EPA says it has not found a clear link from labeled uses,4 and Syngenta denies a causal link.9
That is why every situation is reviewed on its own facts.
Is there a deadline to file?
Yes. Every state sets its own deadline, and the rules differ from state to state. In California, for example, a claim for injury from a toxic substance generally must be filed within two years of the injury, or within two years of when you knew or should have known about the injury and its cause.10 It is better not to wait.
