
Biggest Camp Lejeune Settlements Paid to Date by The Courts
While there hasn’t been a single large settlement awarded by the courts specifically for Camp Lejeune toxic water cases. to date( March 2023) in addition to waiting for the courts to decide what kind of compensation these cases will be awarded, the U.S. government established a compensation program for those affected by the contaminated water at Camp Lejeune.
In 2017, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) finalized a rule that granted presumptive disability benefits to veterans and their families who were exposed to the contaminated water at Camp Lejeune. The program covers eight medical conditions, including kidney cancer, liver cancer, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and Parkinson’s disease, among others. Veterans and their dependents who meet the eligibility requirements can receive health care and disability benefits through the VA.
