Two developments dominate 2026 and pull in opposite directions: a proposed class settlement with published figures, and a Supreme Court ruling that weakens the legal theory most claims rest on.
Roughly 3,932 actions remain pending in MDL 2741 before Judge Vince Chhabria in the Northern District of California, with around 30,000 more concentrated in Cole County, Missouri state court.
Roundup Lawsuit Filing Deadlines
Limitation periods for Roundup claims vary by state and generally run from the date of diagnosis, or from the point at which the connection between the diagnosis and glyphosate exposure could reasonably have been discovered. Several states apply a discovery rule that materially extends the window; others do not.
The proposed class settlement does not pause these deadlines. Its own opt-out deadline of 4 June 2026 has passed, which means claimants who did not opt out are within the proposed class if it is approved.
A claim that expires before it is filed is worth nothing regardless of its facts. Anyone uncertain about their status — whether inside the class, whether a deadline has run — should establish it rather than assume it.
